Flora

Knowle Meadow is enclosed by mature trees including an enormous walnut, magnificent beech, copper beech, oak, elder, scotch pine, hazel, hornbeam, and field maple.

Three sections of wildflower meadows have been carefully curated to support native wildlife and to delight. The wildflowers include campion, wild carrot, catchfly, cowslip, ox-eye daisy, foxgloves, bluebells, knapweed, musk mallow, sorrel, St John's-wort, yarrow and yellow rattle. The meadows have been planted to support declining perennial wildflowers. Although not always as showy as their annual counterparts, the perennials provide an important habitat and will continue to improve year on year.
